There are many different specialties in this field as well, ranging from basic everyday imaging to ultrasound and radiology based exams. My primary work is with ultrasound imaging, which gives me a variety of patients to work with at the hospital. Most often, I work with emergency patients who need urgent ultrasounds performed during their visit. These tests help doctors to diagnose the problems and find a treatment for them.
Another important aspect of my job is to have good communication and bedside manners for my patients. Many of them experience anxiety due to the urgency of their condition, and I do my best to keep them calm. Sometimes I just tell them stories, or listen to them as they talk while I run the testing on them. Even the most nervous of patients often end up smiling and relaxed when they leave my testing area.
The University of California in San Francisco also offers a wonder nurse practitioner program. It falls within the top nurse practitioner programs due to its heavy concentration in student public service. Upon completion of the program students are placed in urban and rural public health facilities for nurse practitioner jobs, allowing the students to learn how to work in diverse environments.
As a part of Columbia’s academic medical facility the Columbia University provides nurse practitioner students with amazing work experience as they fulfill their NP program requirements. Through education and research students gain the necessary experience to be a NP.
At the top of the list in the Pacific Northwest people will find the University of Washington’s wonderful NP program. Students can graduate from the main campus, but also have the option to attend courses at the school’s other two campuses located in Bothell and Tacoma.
Nurses that are looking for a program that excels in adult and nurse practitioner pediatric medicine should look no further than the nursing program at the Yale University.
So, what does a nurse practitioner do?
It is also financially a rewarding job, as my annual income is more than the median national average in other professions. That helps me take care of my many financial responsibilities at home while giving me great financial freedom . One of the best benefits of pharmacist jobs in my area includes the emotional satisfaction of knowing that my expertise and skill sets will definitely help patients get better.
But it’s often challenging for me to keep up with the intense workload. So many prescriptions are called in during each day that even with the help of other pharmacists, I can often feel overwhelmed. But if I concentrate, remain diligent and steadfast, and focus on just how important and urgent my job is to so many people, this mindset helps me endure the hectic environment I sometimes face.
My job is unique because I’m a major link in the physician-patient association. I’m the essential middleman between doing what the doctor says on a prescription blank and supplying patients with necessary medications. My job can’t be done in a vacuum. I require the support of not only doctors but of the pharmacy assistants who work with me and help prepare the overall shop environment so it operates safely and most efficiently. There’s no question that considering all the advantages, I made the right career choice.
Physician assistant jobs are growing. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the demand for this profession is likely to grow at a much higher rate than the average for other jobs because of the gap between available doctors and the number of patients. Physician assistant jobs often require long hours and may require workers to be on-call. Other jobs may take place in a doctor’s office setting with a set schedule.
This is a demanding profession where clear and concise decision-making is a must. Good judgment is needed because the well-being of patients depends on it. Depending on the job setting, whether it be a hospital or doctor’s office, the level of stress can often be high. It is rewarding to know you are helping someone who is sick or in pain. Physician assistants have the ability to do that.
The starting salary for a physician assistant is usually around $80,000 and will increase with experience or specialization. Therefore, one can provide a very comfortable lifestyle for themselves and their family. Financial and job security are both important and rewarding aspects of this profession.
As a respiratory therapist, I utilize various types of cardiopulmonary equipment and devices to ensure adequate blood-oxygen levels to my patients who have breathing problems, either due to injuries or diseases and infections.
Respiratory therapist jobs like mine are extremely rewarding because I’m helping sustain the very life of a multitude of individuals. As a respiratory therapist, I currently work in a hospital, but I used to perform my duties in a nursing home where many of the elderly people were infirmed with severe breathing problems.
Respiratory therapist jobs allow individuals like me to earn substantial financial remuneration while working in a clean, safe and compassionate environment. I also enjoy the satisfaction I get from the patients I assist when I visually see how their breathing problems are mitigated by the services I provide.
My job is not particularly difficult. I work a standard eight hour shift on most days, although sometimes evening and weekend work is required of me when another therapist can’t make it to work that day or if we have a particularly hectic schedule of lung affected patients on the hospital ward where I work.
Some of my daily challenges include not always being able to get the breathing and lung improvement results that I would like. This is due to some of my patients having more serious forms of breathing issues such as emphysema, bronchitis, lung infections after recovering from severe pneumonia, and lung damage from accidents such as stabbings, shootings or car accidents.
But overall my work is an invaluable part of the health care team here at the hospital. I enjoy interacting with other members of the health care team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, phlebotomists, x-ray technicians, and the pulmonary physicians who specialize in lung and breathing disorders.
I take pride in considering myself as a valuable health care professional. I understand that my services to assist sick patients with their breathing issues is fundamental to their full recovery. I owe much to my extensive training and valuable experience. It’s also enjoyable to work with such a wide variety of patients, from men and women to children of all ages.
